As part of the Federal Environmental Games project, a game-based format on environmental and sustainability topics is being developed. It is modeled after the Federal Youth Games and can be implemented by students at all secondary schools in Germany. The Federal Environmental Games creatively inspire young people to get involved in environmental and climate protection. In the summer of 2027, we will host the games in collaboration with schools throughout Germany. The Federal Environmental Games begin with interactive smartphone rallies, during which participants explore their school surroundings, solve exciting challenges, and earn points. More complex, project-based tasks make up the second part of the Federal Environmental Games and encourage participating young people to take action.
Target audience: Young people aged 14 and over
Duration: from at least one project day up to a full project week
Period: June–September
Number of participants: 1–2 classes per school
