Climate change is already a reality worldwide and is affecting ecosystems, regions and populations to varying degrees. Brazil is one of the key players in the global fight against climate change. In order to understand and tackle the climate crisis, it is essential to promote young people’s engagement through climate education.
Missão Climática: Jovens em Ação! (Climate Mission: Youth in Action!) is a project that develops game-based tools to support schools and educators in their work on this topic. The aim is to broaden pupils’ repertoire, stimulate critical thinking and involve young people in local measures to tackle the crisis, valuing their knowledge and potential.
The project involves the development of a serious game and accompanying materials. The game will be distributed to public schools in two pilot regions (Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco). The target group is school pupils (aged 14–18), teachers and multipliers. The project will also promote knowledge exchange and networking. It is being carried out with two partners in Brazil.
