Escape Climate Change

Learning about climate protection through play

Escape Climate Change is an interactive game that tackles the topic of climate protection in a fun and exciting way. The concept is based on the idea of an escape game, in which a small group must solve a complex puzzle within a set time limit. The game is aimed at secondary school pupils. In Escape Climate Change, the young people must work together to crack a final secret code found inside a box. They can only succeed if they solve numerous puzzles and tasks with the help of their intuition, teamwork and knowledge of climate change. Cooperation and engagement with the topic of climate protection are key to solving the game. An accompanying app is being developed to support Escape Climate Change.

The game can be played with the help of a box. Any school can order Escape Climate Change, and the game can be played in the classroom. Extensive support and accompanying materials are also available for teachers. Around 1,800 game boxes were produced in Germany and distributed to schools and educational institutions. Unfortunately, the game is no longer available to order, but it can be borrowed from certain locations.

ESCAPE CLIMATE CHANGE expanded

The Escape Climate Change project was very successful. All 1,800 game boxes were sold out within a short period of time. Demand for the game remains high. Against this backdrop, the project was continued in 2020 with funding from the Nationalen Klimaschutzinitiative. Among other things, a DIY box and an online version were developed.
