As part of this integration project, an app was developed that functions as a location-based mobile game and helps local and refugee youths explore their region together. Participants work in small groups consisting of refugees and locals to solve various tasks and puzzles. The tasks are designed to help immigrant young people get to know their new social environment, both spatially and culturally.
The free app created a recreational educational offering that is integrated into local structures. The intention was to enable young refugees to get to know their new home in a playful way and to interact with local young people. At the same time, the aim was to broaden the knowledge of local residents about the cultural backgrounds of the refugees. The project was funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and implemented by ECOMOVE in cooperation with the respective local partners. The project was completed in 2021.
