DVD media package and cinema tour on ‘Resource efficiency, circular economy and sustainable consumption’

Global resource use has taken a turn that can’t keep going without hurting future generations’ chances for economic prosperity and social cohesion. For a highly developed industrial country like Germany, it’s super important to use raw materials efficiently, have a smart recycling system, and find innovative ways to use waste products. Sustainable consumption plays a key role in this. Raw materials are not available in unlimited quantities, and our increasing consumption of resources is posing a growing threat to the climate and biodiversity.
In order to communicate this topic to the general public and raise awareness of how we use natural resources on a daily basis, ECOMOVE International launched the ‘Ressourcen im Blick’ (Focus on Resources) project in 2013. This project involved the development of a comprehensive DVD media package consisting of 15 selected film and TV productions on the topics of ‘resource efficiency, recycling management and sustainable consumption’ with extensive educational materials. In addition, ECOMOVE presented a full-length cinema and discussion programme throughout Germany in 2014, aimed at all documentary film and cinema enthusiasts. It offered viewers an engaging film, including a supporting film on this topic, followed by a film discussion with expert speakers on site.
